I open the Eclectic3D blog with a short piece concerning a recent minor Drupal module snafu : The new CAPTCHA module put into place on this site was working TOO well--it was displaying some of the text white-on-white--effectively making it impossible to sign up! The module was put into place in order to prevent spammer bots from creating false accounts. I must say, the fault seems to lie with this default Drupal module (v6.x-2.1) which by default, modulates the text color of the 'challenge' text between black and white, while keeping background white. For me, this was remedied by opting NOT to modulate the text color. However, this doesn't seem to be very clever behavior, even though it keep the bots away... Thanks to user whoopiecat for bringing this to my attention. Come back and read us soon. |
